I need to get my gearbox changed in my 2000 1.25 Zetec Fiesta manual, and am trying to source a second hand one to replace it with....

I have been told that I can fit ANY 1.25 Zetec engine manul gearbox upto 2008 model, as the zetec engine didn't change for all that time...Is that correct?

I also don't know where to look to find my gearbox code...do you need to look at the gearbox from underneath the car? Unfortunately there is oil all over the floor underneath where it has leaked so not an option. I couldn;t see any serial from up top.

If it is true that I can put in any 1.25 zetec engine gearbox, upto 2008, I might try and source a 2007 low mileage one : D

Any help would be appreciated, as I have searched on google for quite some time, and can't find the answer to these questions.

There should be a metal tag on oine of the gearbox bolts with the part nuimber on-visible in engine compartment-not under car.

It may have broken off omaybe lost when Clutch was being replaced.

Anyone know if I can put an '07 zetec gearbox in my '00 zetec?
