Mazda launches limited edition Mazda MX-5 Kizuna

Mazda has launched the limited edition Mazda MX-5 Kizuna, available in the UK from next month, with only 250 models being produced.

Based on the 1.5-litre 132ps Exclusive-Line Roadster, the Kizuna comes in Deep Crystal Blue or Machine Grey, with a premium blue fabric hood, Light Stone Nappa leather and 16-inch bright alloy wheels.

The Kizuna, which means ‘enduring bond’ in English, follows in the tradition of limited edition Mazda MX-5s. The Machine Grey will have 170 cars and the remaining 80 will be Deep Crystal Blue.

In addition to the Kizuna, the 2023 Mazda MX-5 line-up will feature the Prime-Line, Exclusive-Line and Homura trim levels.

Both the Roadster and Retractable Fastback RF models come with a choice of 1.5-litre 132ps and 184ps 2.0-litre Skyactiv-G petrol engines.

The 1.5-litre Roadster is available in Prime-Line and Exclusive-Line grade, while the 184ps 2.0-litre Skyactiv-G Roadster is matched to Exclusive-Line and range-topping Homura grades.

The Prime-Line RF is powered by the 1.5-litre engine, while Exclusive-Line models can be specified with either the 1.5 or 2.0-litre engine and the range-topping Homura is exclusively matched to the 184ps 2.0-litre engine. The 2.0-litre RFs in both trim levels come with the option to choose an automatic gearbox.

The updates for the 2023 Mazda MX-5 include the addition of the Zircon Sand paint color for the first time while Homura manual models will feature red Brembo front brake callipers.

Which tyres should we fit it our MX-5?

Looking forward to picking up our 2016 MX-5 next weekend. We want new tyres suitable for use throughout the year, but not for ice and snow. We won’t do track days and need a sensible performance tyre for dry and wet conditions on road. What do you recommend for that purpose?
Take a look at the Uniroyal Rainsport 5 tyres. They've been developed to provide exceptional wet weather performance and they're very highly rated with MX-5 owners in all conditions. They also represent good value for money. Enjoy your MX-5!
