Paris Motor Show 2016: Top 10 stars of the show

Paris Motor Show wasn’t quite as big or as spectacular in 2016 as it has been in the past. There were some notable absences, including Ford, Mazda, Bentley and Rolls-Royce, while some manufacturers had much lower key stands than is typical, including Mercedes-Benz.

But, even so, there were some really interesting new cars on display, with the usual mix of mad concept cars, exotic performance machines and plenty of more mainstream, realistic cars. We’ve picked out our favourites across the whole gamut, with hatchbacks, SUVs, and some mad concepts for good measure.

Peugeot 5008

Peugeot had both the 3008 and 5008 on display, both of which have lost their MPV styling in favour of SUV-inspired looks. The 5008 is bigger, with a pair of extra, occasional use seats that fold out of the boot. The middle row has plenty of adjustment so will suit occupants of all sizes and ages.

Up front, the instrument binnacle is full colour and incorporate all kinds of information including navigation. Lots of safety tech will appear too, including blind spot assist that nudges the steering in an effort to prevent accidents when changing lanes. Cars will be in showrooms from March 2017.
