Christmas Gift Guide: Top 10 DVDs and Blu-Rays
A DVD makes a perfect gift. Everyone knows that. Although obviously it helps when the DVD is good – a copy of collected My Little Pony episodes might not go down all too well with a 20-year-old Call of Duty fan.
So to help you pick the best car-themed DVD or Blu-Ray for your motor mad family member we’ve written a top 10. We’ve concentrated on newer movies – we’re assuming the classics like Bullitt are already in your collection on Betamax or Laserdisc.
The Transporter Trilogy (15) - £7.99
In this series of films Jason Statham breaks the law of physics in an Audi A8 in between beating up baddies. That’s about the crux of it – but if you need more detail, Statham plays Frank Martin, an expert in transporting illegal or dangerous goods, no questions asked.
The theme doesn’t change throughout the three films, though the superpowers exhibited by the Audi get progressively more insane. It’s obviously all complete nonsense, but that’s all part of the charm. A new Transporter film debuted in 2015 with a new lead actor, but it won’t be out on DVD or Blu-Ray until December 28.
