Every month the SMMT releases figures for new car sales including the most popular new models – but what about used cars? Used car classified listing site Motors.co.uk has crunched the numbers to find out which used models were sold the best. Click through the gallery below to see the list.

Volkswagen Golf
The desirable, well-built Golf holds its value well compared to the Ford and Vauxhall models at the top of this list, which is perhaps why it comes in a little lower. It’s still a very popular car both new and used, though – and for good reason. It feels more upmarket than similar cars and it’s a practical choice for a family.
