Every month the SMMT releases figures for new car sales including the most popular new models – but what about used cars? Used car classified listing site Motors.co.uk has crunched the numbers to find out which used models were sold the best. Click through the gallery below to see the list.

BMW 3 Series
On the new car market the 3 Series regularly outsells the ubiquitous Ford Mondeo. There’s a lot of demand for the German executive saloon, so it makes sense that it’s a popular used by. Second hand examples are, of course, more affordable than new cars, but they still carry plenty of prestige.
