You can bin your tax disc after 1 October

After 1 October you can cut up your tax disc, throw it away, keep it in a picture frame or even just leave it in your windscreen – but you’ll no longer be legally required to display it. People in Northern Ireland don’t have to display a tax disc, but will still have to display their MoT disc (something the rest of the UK does without).
